Depending on your line of work, you may experience work-related incidents that can put your eyesight in jeopardy. However, eye emergencies can happen to anyone at any time, so it is best to be prepared.
- Trauma: Being struck or falling on your head or face can lead to serious complications that may affect your vision. It is always best to have an examination as soon as possible after any incidents to avoid further issues.
- Foreign Object: We’ve suffered the minor annoyance and discomfort of getting something in our eye. However, when this involves getting something embedded in the eye or eyelid, it can be extremely painful and may cause irreversible damage without treatment.
- Chemical Burns: If you work around chemicals and do not wear protective eyewear, there is always a chance of getting some into your eye. In the event of this, you should always immediately rinse your eyes with cool tap water and then seek medical attention.
